There are three red plaid maple leafs; one on each side of the years of birth and death, and one in between the first and last name. In the right and left lower corners of the panel there are what appear to be clovers or another type of plant, with green teardrop-shaped leaves with yellow centres. There are 2 leaves on the left side, and 3 leaves on the right. Next to the plant on the left side there is a beige square with green-plaid trim containing text in the centre. Next to the plant on the right side there is the head of a deer made with beige and brown plaid, black eyes and nose, and red ears. On either side of the lower portion of the face of the deer there are black prints with the name ‘Sophie’ written beside the print on the left side, and Zelda beside the print on the right.

“Ample make this bed,
Make this bed with awe;
In it wait till judgment break
Excellent and fair.
Be its mattress straight,
Be its pillow round;
Let no sunrise’ yellow noise
Interrupt this ground.”
Emily Dickinson
